When developing a EMP its important to consider the set up of the site, proximity to external hazards, and other important information to ensure that the EMP is specific to the site.

Procedures to follow in the event of an emergency

Follow the below procedures if an emergency occurs in the workplace / work site:
Injury procedures

- Shut down any plant or equipment
- Provide first aid if someone is injured and stay with them (if safe to do so)
- Dial 000 and ask for AMBULANCE
- Arrange for someone to meet the ambulance at the front of the site when they arrive
Fire or gas leak procedures
- Evacuate the site to the evacuation assembly area
- Dial 000 and ask for FIRE
- Remain at the evacuation assembly area
- Report to your supervisor or manager
- Arrange for someone to meet the fire service at the front of the site
Hazardous atmosphere procedures
- Evacuate the site to the evacuation assembly area
- Dial 000 and ask for FIRE
- Remain at the evacuation assembly area
- Report to your supervisor or manager
- Arrange for someone to meet the fire service at the front of the site
- Provide any relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to emergency services
