    When developing an EMP its important to consider the set up of the site, proximity to external hazards, and other important information to ensure that the EMP is specific to the site.
  • Emergency Situations

    The potential emergencies that could arise in the workplace / work site are:
  • Procedures to follow in the event of an emergency

    Follow the below procedures if an emergency occurs in the workplace / work site:
  • Injury procedures

    • Stay Calm
    • Shut down any plant or equipment
    • Provide first aid if someone is injured and stay with them (if safe to do so)
    • Dial 000 and ask for AMBULANCE
    • Arrange for someone to meet the ambulance at the front of the site when they arrive
  • Fire or gas leak procedures

    • Evacuate the site to the evacuation assembly area
    • Dial 000 and ask for FIRE
    • Remain at the evacuation assembly area
    • Report to your supervisor or manager
    • Arrange for someone to meet the fire service at the front of the site
  • Hazardous atmosphere procedures

    • Evacuate the site to the evacuation assembly area
    • Dial 000 and ask for FIRE
    • Remain at the evacuation assembly area
    • Report to your supervisor or manager
    • Arrange for someone to meet the fire service at the front of the site
    • Provide any relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to emergency services
  • Other emergency procedures
    (fall from height - worker suspended in harness, engulfment, confined space)

    • Trained personnel to action rescue plan
    • Report to your supervisor or manager

  • Evacuation Details

    In the event the site needs to evacuate, below outlines the process for raising the alarm to notify people onsite and to safely evacuate people to a nearby designated area (evacuation assembly point).
